While return on investment is important, it’s only one part of the equation. Waymark also continually considers your unique short- and long-term financial goals as we guide you through your lifelong wealth journey.
There is a distinct difference between having the financial means to live the life you want and actually being able to do so. We integrate traditional wealth management with behavioral finance to chart your course and help you navigate it with assuredness. Behavioral finance uses a values-based decision-making process to help you strive confidently towards your life goals, roadmap in hand.
With the principles of behavioral finance leading the way, Waymark Wealth Management can help you pursue your own unique “True Wealth.”
Our Team
Brendan Sheehan, MSFP, CFP®
Managing Director
Brendan's path from a working class suburb of Boston to being named one of Forbes’ Best-in-State Wealth Advisors in 2021 wasn’t exactly conventional. After earning a psychology degree from Harvard, he kicked off his career by juggling two roles: unpaid intern at a sports marketing firm co-owned by Boston Bruins legend Bobby Orr by day, and waiter at Pizzeria Uno by night. A few years in advertising and marketing followed—until he was recruited by his father to join the family’s financial planning firm as its marketing director.
It didn’t take long for Brendan to realize he needed to understand more than just branding and marketing to communicate effectively with clients. So, he dove into the world of finance, working full-time while earning his master’s degree in financial planning and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation by night. Fast forward a few years (and many twists and turns), Brendan became the sole owner of Waymark Wealth Management, LLC in 2019.
While some are surprised that a psychology major ended up in finance, Brendan sees it as one of his greatest assets. His understanding of human behavior has helped him incorporate behavioral finance into his work—often making a bigger difference for clients than spreadsheets and projections alone. With over 20 years of experience, Brendan now specializes in comprehensive wealth management, including retirement planning, investment strategies, education funding, insurance and risk management, charitable giving, and tax and estate planning. His work has been featured in outlets like MoneyGeek, U.S. News, the Boston Business Journal, and Financial Planning magazine.
But if you ask Brendan what really sets him apart, he’ll tell you it’s this: the ability to take a client’s complex, often emotional vision of their future and turn it into a clear, actionable plan.
Brendan also believes in giving back. He serves as co-director of the Massachusetts Financial Planning Association’s Pro Bono Military Initiative and has volunteered with organizations such as Homes for Our Troops and Home Base, supporting veterans and their families through financial guidance and community engagement.
Outside of the office, Brendan keeps busy with family, scouting, and his longtime CrossFit routine. An Eagle Scout himself, he now serves as Scoutmaster of his local troop. His daughter Caeli followed in his footsteps—becoming one of the first female Eagle Scouts after Scouts BSA opened its doors to girls in 2019. Brendan’s also been a loyal CrossFitter for over a decade and shares a busy home life with his wife, Sue, their daughters Caeli and Emma, and their four pets—German shepherds Timber and Kammie and ferrets Luna and Nala.
